The World Lost one of Its Greatest Hip-Hop Pioneers and Most Beloved Figures last night.. as Malik Isaac Taylor, otherwise known as Phife Dawg from A Tribe Called Quest, saw the end to his life at age 45.
Although the actual cause of death has not yet been announced, Phife had ongoing health issues for years as a result of battling Type 1 Diabetes. These problems even led to a Kidney Transplant in 2008.
Tribe and Phife were known for being not only Pioneers to the burgeoning Hip-Hop Genre of music in the late 80’s and early 90’s, but as ones whose energy maintain a positive vibe to Hip-Hop, which is very much missing today.
Phife will be greatly missed and we hope you all enjoy some old school Tribe today
