Paramount Pictures And Bad Robot has finally released the J.J. Abrams Directed Sequel to Star Trek… “Into Darkness”.

The original Star Trek film released in 2009, starring Chris Pine, Zachary Quinto and Zoe Saldana, had a ridiculous budget of $150 Million and brought in $385 Million Worldwide.  Well, they rolled some of that profit and brought up the budget of this 2nd installment to $175 Million… and it definitely shows the trailer as you experience some intergalactic terrain.

The First Star Trek definitely did not disappointment, having an incredible storyline of time travelling and galactic twists and turns.. it’s no wonder “Into Darkness” is going to be one of the most highly anticipated films of 2013.  The film is set to be released during the kick-off season of Summer Blockbusters in May.

Here’s a brief plot description as released by Paramount Pictures:

When the crew of the Enterprise is called back home, they find an unstoppable force of terror from within their own organization has detonated the fleet and everything it stands for, leaving our world in a state of crisis. With a personal score to settle, Captain Kirk leads a manhunt to a war-zone world to capture a one man weapon of mass destruction. As our heroes are propelled into an epic chess game of life and death, love will be challenged, friendships will be torn apart, and sacrifices must be made for the only family Kirk has left: his crew.
